The hilarious stage comedy 'Trinity Optima' is presented by Upper Stream Entertainment and Suzu Workshop, with Makerville, Six Degrees and CLL as co-organizers, and is proudly supported by CATHAY PAC AIR. The play is created and planned by Ling Man Lung, co-directed by Zhu Baiqian and Zhang Zhimin, and written by Leung Chak Yu. The stellar cast includes Ling Man Lung (I.T. Dog), Mak Pui Tung (Justice Corridor), Sham Ka Ki (Gum War), He Luo Yao Sica (Everybody's Star IV), and Zhang Zhimin. The promotional poster is released today, featuring the three male leads in sci-fi costumes with playful expressions, along with Sica's creative interpretation, igniting the laughter for this comedy play in advance. Tickets go on sale to the public today (February 25) at 11 am on the ticketing platform 'POPTICKET'. The play will run for 10 shows from April 10 to 19 at the Shouson Theatre, Hong Kong Arts Centre in Wan Chai.
'Trinity Optima' tells the story of three men, each carrying their own troubles, who decide to undergo a technology fusion surgery to pursue a 'better version of themselves' by extracting their strengths and removing impurities to create an 'optimized man'. The imaginative premise, combined with a hilarious plot, has the lead actors eagerly anticipating the production.
He Luo Yao Sica, who has been making waves in the music, film, and television industries, takes on a bold challenge in character interpretation for this play. She plays three different roles, which she considers an ultimate test of her acting skills and laughter endurance. Sica shares, 'This is my second time performing in a stage play. I worked with Ka Ki before, and this time I am honored to collaborate with Man Lung and Mak Pui Tung. On the day of the poster shoot, they struck so many funny poses and goofy faces, and I really had to hold back my laughter. I wanted to join in on the fun, but since I had to crouch down without moving during the shoot, I couldn't make goofy faces with them. It was really challenging for me.'
Ling Man Lung, taking on the role of planner and initiator for a stage play for the first time, expresses his gratitude to the directors, actors, and backstage crew for their trust and support, from which he has gained a lot. He reveals that the read-throughs have already been filled with laughter, and he looks forward to the actual performance. Man Lung jokes, 'The poster styling is so cool. I've never tried this style before, and the final shot turned out so playful, perfectly matching this theme. I've always been camera-shy, and usually, when I'm asked to strike a cool pose, it ends up being hilarious.'
Mak Pui Tung mentions that he has quickly established a great rapport with his co-stars. 'We were already laughing nonstop during the poster shoot, and I can't even imagine what rehearsals will be like. We will definitely laugh ourselves tired. We all have a good sense of humor, so I'm not worried about the performance at all. Instead, I'm concerned about holding back my laughter.' He also shares, 'Ka Ki just became a father and has been sharing parenting tips with me. I've watched Man Lung's directorial works, and we get along well when discussing drama. Although this is my first time working with Sica, we got comfortable with each other quickly.'
Sham Ka Ki expresses that this group of actors is a lot of fun, and there will definitely be sparks on stage. 'We have great chemistry and are willing to play and discuss together. I really look forward to the performance.' Regarding the poster shoot, he admits that it was not easy. 'Conveying a message through a still photo is challenging for me. I felt pressured and lacked confidence, but the final result turned out great, and I'm very satisfied.'
